Rev. Robert Balduc
Pastor

Pastor Balduc's favorite Bible verse is Romans 8i:28, And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. He has been St. Peter's pastor since its birth in September of 2006.  He and Karla were married on Aug. 11, 1990, in Carrollton, Texas, and spent their honeymoon in Cancun.  They have four children, Benjamin, Hannah, Seth and Noah - and a multidue of family pets.  He's a proud graduate of Michigan State University and a huge fan of the movie "Godfather I" and the TV show "The Office".  After 14 years in marketing with Ford Motor Company during which time he served in various volunteer roles in the churches he attended, he followed God's call into the ministry to be a church planter.  He was ordained in June 2005 and called by our "Mother Church", Peace Lutheran in Hurst, to serve on their staff as he laid the foundation for this mission church.  His love of Diet Coke fuels his endless energy!  He says that what he will miss most about being portable church is "Saturday night set up . . . NOT!!"  What he is most looking forward to as we move into our own facility is the launching of Concordia Academy, and using the building as a base of operations to deploy the "troops" onto the battlefield.

 Dr. Rebecca Burton
 Concordia Academy
 Head of School

Rebecca’s favorite verse is Romans 5:3-5 - More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.  She and Robert were married in Painesville, Ohio on June 2, 2000, and they have one daughter, Harper, and one son, Blake.  She and her family joined as charter members of the church. In 2007, she joined the St. Peter staff. As the rest of the staff learned at a party, she is REALLY GOOD at Rock Band drumming.  She adds, “I’m also good at Mario Kart Wii … two skills in high demand, I know!”  She is passionate about education and how it impacts our generation of children. She is also passionate about family and time spent with them.  Her favorite part of the staff retreat this year was the paddleboat experience.  “We had fun laughing and horsing around. And, we saw competitive sides of people we didn’t know existed!”  She loves nachos, sweet tea, and Reeses Pieces and would gladly welcome such gifts!.  “I will miss all of the activities that we have had in community locations and members' homes, due to a lack of having our own space,” she says.  “But I will definitely enjoy having storage space and not having to move supplies around every week when we move into our building!”

 Tammy Fragano
 Family Life

Tammy’s favorite Bible verse is You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great. Psalm 18:35  She joined the St. Peter staff in May of 2009, but is an original member of the church.  Tammy married Ben in Bedford, Texas, on October 22, 1994, and they have four children, Lydia, Joe, Miriam and John.  And, having said that, kids are a huge part of Tammy’s life and passion!  Just listen and you can hear that passion in her words! “First and foremost, I am passionate about sharing God’s Word with my family and creating a legacy of Christian foundation and discipleship for my children to live out and pass on to their children. I care deeply about witnessing and seeking ways to respond to God’s love. The very best thing about being on staff at St. Peter is the joy of being used by God to impact the faith walk of other families.”  What she looks forward to in the new building is: “Continuity and consistency. When something is set up, it will still be there the next day. A place where our ministries can connect and grow. I’m really looking forward to creating these spaces where ministry happens, programs take place, kids can see their creative work on the walls, we can use visuals and technology to help deliver God’s message. Creating a place where families can come to be filled and inspired.”

 Michelle Gibson
 Music Ministries

Michelle’s favorite Bible verse is For this reason, I kneel before the Father. Ephesians 3:14.  “It makes people ask, ‘What reason?’  And I would answer them, ‘ALL reasons!’”  She joined the St. Peter staff as the organist for our CLASSIC service in 2008 and became the lead of our music ministries in 2009.   Michelle married Kyle in Waco (yes, they are Baylor Bear fans!) on September 9, 2006 - one day before St. Peter had its first worship service!  Now, here’s an unusual talent that she lays claim to:  she can play the piano with her toes!!!  And in church music ministry, you never know when that will come in handy!  Michelle’s favorite part of the staff’s latest retreat was watching an elderly lady do the Chicken Dance while we were eating at Babe’s.  The thing that Michelle is most looking forward to about moving into our own facility is NO SATURDAY NIGHT SET UP!  When she really wants to talk to God, she walks down to Lake Grapevine, which, conveniently, is across the street from their home.  “I either sit by the water or walk on the trails.  I feel so close to Him there.”

  Maxine Kamp
  Missional Life

Maxine’s favorite Bible verse is, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  Now, imagine hearing Maxine, in her twangy West Texas accent say, “Ya’ll just have to read the whole thing!!  All of it!! Romans 8:35-39”   Max is mother of two grown sons, Jason and John David, step-mother of two grown daughters, Holly and Heidi, and grandmother of five, “with one more in the oven!” She’s a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, but also has a “guns up” Texas Tech attitude.  Her favorite restaurant is Renata’s in Ft. Worth, and her best vacation memory is cruising the Antarctic. (Sounds nice, doesn't it?)  “The best part of being on staff at St. Peter (a charter member of the church, she joined the staff in May of 2008) is that we are all very compatible, reaching towards the same goals for our church,” she says.  “And we have fun times together using a lot of humor.”  She says that although she will miss being a portable church because it has been very close to her house, she’s excited about St. Peter actually owning our place of worship.  “And I really look forward to being able to have real wine in the holy sacrament!”  Maxine is responsible for new members, our Community Life program and our small group ministry through Rock Groups.

 Aaron Wallace
 Student Life

Aaron’s favorite verse is Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!  Psalm 46:10.  Although Aaron and his family had been members of St. Peter from the start in 2006, it wasn’t until 2009 that he joined the staff.  He and Tami were married in Bryan/College Station on December 16, 2000, and they have one son, Kyllan (who has eyes that just make you melt!)  Aaron could be thought of as a coffee snob ... we mean connoisseur ... having learned more about the bean than most of us knew was possible while employed in coffee shops. Since God has led him from his coffee passion to be passionate about students, he says, “I have a strong desire to serve in any way that God sees fit to call me.  I enjoy helping others see that God is relevant to them in a world where most of us feel irrelevant.”  Perhaps God used fond memories of his years in youth group to bring him to youth work.  “While on a youth group event, tubing down a river, we came across a shallow portion flowing across some smooth rounded stones; a kind of mini rapids.  Seemed like a good time to try to ‘surf’ on my inner tube. Well, as fantastic an idea as it was, I fell off. While not deep, the water was flowing fast enough to keep me from gaining my footing. I remember watching my inner tube leaving me behind as I rolled down the slippery rocks.”

Support Staff

 Trish Miller
 Church Administrator

Trish’s favorite Bible verse is For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29:11  She is the mother of two beautiful daughters, Emily and Amanda.  Her favorite ice cream is Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and she loves any movie starring Steven Seagal.  She loves watching Criminal Minds … and she can’t live without her computer!  She came on staff in February of 2008 and moved into her current position as Church Administrator in May 2010.  Her favorite part of the staff retreat was when we all sat around the campfire, late at night.  When she wants to talk to God, she likes to be near water – pool or lake, doesn’t matter – or be alone in a church.  Well, now that we are in the building, she is able to do that!

 Karen Wiechman
 Communications/Marketing Coordinator

Karen’s favorite verse is Deuteronomy 33:12b  - The one the LORD loves rests between his shoulders.  She is one of the original staff members of the church, moving from Houston and coming on board July 1, 2006.  “I love being on this staff!” she exclaims.  “We laugh a lot – we get to be crazy creative – everyone of us loves the Lord and follows Him boldly – and we are all passionate about the church being outward-focused, serving our community.”  She and her husband Dennis were married in Lawton, Oklahoma on January 25, 1970.  You won’t see her around here on Saturdays in the fall – they go to all the home OU football games! They have two children, Steven and Rebecca, and eleven grandchildren.  But their favorite child living at home right now is Baxter, their beloved Boston Terrier mix. Her favorite worship song is “anything that Michelle sings – but right now, my most fav is Revelation Song.”  What she has enjoyed about being portable church is the bonding that happened during the first two or three years as we worked together each week to pull off worship in a gym.  What she looks forward to the most about moving into our own facility?    On Mondays, not having to go look on the trailer or in the bins for things that are missing.
