"Sing aloud to God our strength; shout for joy to the God of Jacob! Raise a song; sound the tambourine, the sweet lyre with the harp. Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, on our feast day." Psalm 81:1-3
Music is around us all the time: in the car, the grocery store, at home...is there any wonder that it's such an integral part of worshiping our Lord? Even back in the
Old Testament, we see how God's people used their voices and their instruments to praise their Father. At St. Peter, we want worship to be Christ-centered, participatory, and focused on the forgiveness of sins. It doesn't matter what songs we sing or what instruments we use - we stay focused on the goal!
There are many different ways to serve in the Music Ministry at St. Peter, no matter what your talents may be. In addition to worship services every week, our music ministry puts on the Lessons and Carols service at Christmas and special music for the week of Easter. There are a group of members that give their time to lead worship at the Nelson Children's Center in Denton, and we host the Songs of Hope Concert each year in the fall.
While our musicians pray every Sunday that our hands and voices will be used to bring God's message to the congregation, we have a lot of fun getting to that point, and we hope you'll join us! Want to be involved in the music ministry? Contact Michelle Gibson, Director of Music Ministries, at mgibson@stpeterfw.org.
St. Peter loves the arts! If you are a musical group looking for a place to hold a concert, please contact Michelle Gibson.
