"Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold!" II Corinthians 3:12
BOLD is a word we use frequently around St. Peter. BOLD describes the people who stepped out in faith to plant a new church in the fall of 2006. BOLD also describes the way we worship and the way we serve those around us.
Now, we want it to describe a new phase in our church life – how we will BUILD! St. Peter has reached a pivotal point in its existence. Sunday worship has been held in rented facilities for more than two years, which means we can’t set up church until after 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and we must be out of the space by 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. To have any kind of a congregational gathering, we must rent space AGAIN. Our meeting room in our rented office space is booked most nights of the week and some small groups even meet around a staff person’s desk in the entry way to the church offices. There is no space in our offices for youth activities. Daytime ministries through St. Peter Community Life use the meeting room two days a week, which makes it difficult to access our storage area on those days. And we won’t even go into how crowded that storage area is!
Now is the time to BE BOLD and BUILD! Therefore, we are actively looking in and around the Roanoke area for land. We trust that the Lord will lead and guide us to the right location on which to build our first facility which will possibly house:
-
a multi-purpose worship area
-
administrative offices
-
youth ministry area
-
classrooms
-
kitchen
-
storage areas
We are BOLD because of the hope that our Lord Jesus Christ has given us through His sacrificial death and resurrection. We want to BOLDLY share that hope with others, as well. This new facility will be instrumental in doing that. Join us as we pray, activate, commit and give to our capital campaign so that together we can Be Bold … BUILD!
